Private Track Day Event at Summit Point from Funktion Auto
#31
I have been the main test driver for the owner of the two cars in question. I have helped set them up and have about 4 track/practice days in both cars.
Here is some more info on the cars. The two SR3's that were present last week are spec'd out to about 70K. Both cars have every option imaginable including air jacks, headlights, full electronic dash, lightweight calipers, carbon fiber undertray, upgraded oil coolers, etc.
The minimum you can get one of those for is about 58K.
The 1:18's that Ian and I were running is on a R compound tire with many heat cycles on them (at least 5 track days). You can easily break into the 16's with the Avon slicks which come with the car, maybe even 15's and keep in mind that you can get the SR3 with another 52 hp which would likely put you in the 13's.
In reference to Scot's question, they are not available for rent at this time, though that may become an option in the future.
I will post some video from last week sometime later. The cars are very well engineered and easy to drive.

I was watching the SCCA D Production Nationals and they had at least one radical in the series. It was neat watching them in racing action. As they become more common we'll see and hear more about them.
