First autox Saturday... need some pointers and suggestion
Well the rednecks finally have an auto x event near me.
Stuff I know...
Get there EARLY
Tell them I am a noobie
Empty my car out of all its junk
Carry a tire pressure gauge and pump
Be a cone boy... remember the rules... eyes wide open
Don't be a hot shot... its my first time
My car is a 1994 Honda Accord... only performance oriented mod is a Greddy EVO exhaust. Is that gonna bump me up in class? I usually run 36 psi on my tires, is that ok or no I need to go up or down.
Thanks a bunch to anyone and everyone that helps.

the exhaust shouldn't change your class and as for the tires, depending on what you have 36 is on the lower end of ok. You might start at 40 and work down from there till you get it where you like it (it's easier to take air out than to put air in)
just remember to take the shortest line and drive it like you stole it
have fun

what class are you planning on running in? Right now..don't worry so much about tire pressure..chalking ur tires or any crap like that...just walk the course and pic the lines..memorize the course...take the noob course walk and listen to instructors...go out there and hav fun..learn how to drive..then start messing with pressures and others after a few more events

I will be happy if I finish dead last. I have no aspirations for this first time other than to finish. Anything else will be an added bonus. I think I will fall in the stock class since I only have the Greddy EVO - which interestingly was cheaper than buying an OEM replacement. Any recommendations on what pressure I outta keep the tires, don't want to mess them up since they are my daily driving tires. I use the BF Goodrich GT-H all season tires. Its been a long awaited dream to participate in an Auto X event.
Again thanks for the replies and suggestions.

Just have fun.. bring food/snacks/drinks if you'll be there for a while. Ride w/other good people if you can, that way you can feel it. You dont really have to worry about screwing up your tires any more than you do just daily driving. I would start at the max psi for the tire, and see how it does. If you have played a racing game like gran tourismo.. just follow the best lines. First times running it, just get to know the track. But most important, have fun.
