survive as in, they resort to staying in motels, living in cars, living in the streets, not being able to afford health care, cant get a higher education...blahblah.
now what would happen if the minimum wage was raised dramatically, by lets say $2.
discuss.

I have to agreee. I was trying to live on MW for a few years.
Lost my Apt. And witht eh cost of living being so high now in days. the price of MW should be raised atleast $1 but $2 would be great. but then rember if they raise MW then the cosy of living goes up more to cover it.
Its an endless cycle. ther will always be thoes that have money and thoes that dont.
Don't let money run your life. If you have true happiness, you can live without being rich.

Well if it was $2 higher the businesses would have to pay for the employment costs by raising the prices of the product....so we will pay more.
I think minimum wage is fair. It's for fairly simple jobs.
Maybe if they had a two standards. Older people without education get paid $1-2 more while younger people living at home get paid the same.

Inflation, loss of jobs in higher paying positions, less need for education (why not work and MAKE money??)
But plain and simple, inflation. That money needs to be produced somewhere...more company loans? The American dollar would appreciate. I think all in all, the U S quality of life would suffer.

Higher minimum wage = higher cost of living...people have to shell out more $ for wage, so they have to charge more for everything to keep the same profit margins.
