Thought you guys might be interested - oil changes
I thought I would pip in here and let you know something I researched about Amsoil.
My sponsor has been using Amsoil for years now in his truck. Back of the bottle says 35,000 mile oil changes can be done, you just have to change the oil filter every 3000 miles or so. He left his Amsoil in for 40,000 miles and then took about 1 ounce out to get it tested by http://www.titanracinglab.com/ The results came back that his oil was still good for use.
I started using Amsoil in my Civic and notice better mpg, acceleration and smoother idle. And most companies will tell you to change your oil at 3000-5000 miles because heck they're making more money. Even Mobil 1 Trisynethic you don't have to change every 3000-5000 miles. Talking to many racers some say wait til 7000-10000 miles - just making sure you change the oil filter.

I didn't change my oil in my car once for 7 months (about 7,000 miles or more) and it was fine, drove exactly the same after with new oil and filter.

"Just change your filter"...while half of the oil spills out anyway. They only say that because amsoil is basically gold when it comes to money. We had a few boxes of it from a convention my mom went to when she worked for Mark IV. Pretty spiffy stuff. But it doesn't work miracles. The true benefits are long-term.

AMSoil is the best so far. 25K or 1 yr which ever come first and only change oil filter once midtime. I want to use it on my engine, but my damn block is too old 130K+. I'm affraid that when i flush it, it'll reveals the cracks and stuff. Now i gotta stick to that 10-40

so where can i get amisol? pep boys?
i usually change my oil when i notice my civic's engine sounding differently. it also runs rougher. this occurs about 6K after an oil change. however, i use a topside oil changer, which makes changing oil hella easy.
