Maybe because that's just who they tend to be friends with. How many people do you see that have really good friends of a different race? I personally don't see it very often at all. All of my friends that I hang around with on a regular basis are Greek. does that mean we're racist?

 

No, I'm not racist, but I am gay. And the reason why they should be is that they're both forms of discrimination. Don't you see that? People don't choose either, yet they're judged by what they are. It's not sexual preference is an old term back in the day when people were ashamed. I don't go flying a rainbow flag or let everybody know, I just don't like this here. The true term is "sexual orientation." Yes, there is a difference.

Now, that aside, it's not about either, it's about racism as a form of discrimination. That's what people are arguing over that more than likely have used the ":ghey:" or ":that's ****ing gay:" BS.

I understand, forms of speach. But this is 2003, get with the times, there are better ways to word things and I believe people should make the small effort to use them.

"sexual preference" and "sexual orientation" are about as different as "retarded" and "mentally handicapped"....they mean the same damn thing, but for some reason one is more acceptable. :dunno:
and I could go off a bit about how much alike being gay and being black really are not, and whether neither is a choice or not...but I'm not trying to get banned.

 

I did not say being BLACK and being GAY is alike at any point. I said that RACISM is a form of DISCRIMINATION along with another form of discrimination that is persistant on this board. Follow my words clearly and don't get lost. I don't want to fight, that's not my intention, but if you're not going to read what you see and type what you want to believe I said them there's no point in this discussion.

i have a couple friends and an uncle that are total fags and you know what my uncle constantly tells me? I HATE GAY PEOPLE. it's not the fact that they're gay, it's how they act, not all, but a good most of them...

simply put, the reason that racism is not ok but "discrimination" agains gays is, is because being black is ok, it's something one is born with and can't do anything about, while being gay is generally less accepted.
and I'd rather not delve any further because we've already had a discussion of this topic in the on topic forum a while back.

 

that's basically what I was alluding too...I just couldn't bring myself to be that blunt. and besides...a suprising number of people will argue otherwise.
