My God you are ignorant. For you to say 9/11 is over and done is about the worst thing for anyone to say. If anything we are underusing it. You and sxecrow seem to forget that was an attack on innocent civilians and not a militarty vs military strike. We are now poised to locate any suspect nation which may be a threat to us or any other free country. This is a war which will take years, and there probably won't be a decisive point of victory. Every day we can go without us or our friends getting hit like that is one more small victory, for sure. But to say that we should get on with things and forget 9/11, damn you're wrong. We have an obligation for freedom to take whatever measures we need to. As far as whether they are reactive, they sure are. That attack on us was an attack on all freedom, by anyone against freedom, not just AlQeda or BinLaden. It's really sick that you can just forget about 9/11 and just move on like nothing happened. 9/11/01 and 12/7/41 are just as equally decisive moments in history. The difference is Japan played by the rules of war, and the 18 hijackers didn't. So now the game is different, for sure. Throw the rules out the window.

 

Why should a large terrorist attack by one network (Al Queda), give Bush the power to start any wars he wants, against any nations for no reason, bypassing all international law. And Dems shouldnt have to cater to Bush just because he was in office during 9/11. No one should have that much power, no good can come of it.

 

Sounds like everyone wants to forget 9/11...... you know, that footage should be played once a week, on every Tuesday. Then mabe you won't forget it.

 

I don't think anyone will ever forget it, it was a traumatic experience for the American people. But its being used by the Bush administration as an All-access pass to do whatever the hell they want. They even tried to play on the American publics 9/11 emotions to go to war with Iraq by trying to link Iraq and Al-Queda. Hell, a recent survey even showed that more then 50% of the American Public believes that the Hijackers were Iraqis and Saddam Hussien was directly responsible.

 

Yea, Fastball, you can't dwell on the past. All you can do it look to the future and the best way to PREVENT that from happening again, is to realize WHY these people hate us, and try and resolve it like that. If we get dragged into this for years and years, we'll be in the same situation the Palestinians and Israelis are in. We'll have more terrorist attacks and we'll be forced to send more troops overseas. It's a no win situation.

So then what do you propose we do? Just sit back and relax? Kick our feet up and say "well, that's in the past. Let's forget and move on. If we don't bother anyone, no one will bother us"? I'm not dwelling on the past, but I am using 9/11 as the motivation to rid the world of all the maniacs. Bush has won alot of respect for his concept of a new world order, where the options are pretty much accept democracy or face the consequences. He's the first President I can remember who stepped to the plate to address the entire mid-east situation. Clinton tried, but these animals don't abide by handshakes and treaties. I don't know where some people have been, but much of the mid-east is now seriously shaking in their towels. We crumbled a regime they thought would give us serious problems in one month. We have eliminated that regime's lifeblood, that being Hussein's sons, and now that has happened, Iran, while not very public about it, is very worried. As well they should be. See, this is the time we go all out. They started this freaking mess, and by God we're gonna finish it. We've got the power, the people, and the guns to do it. As far as I'm concerned, the fighting that has gone on since biblical times is gonna come to an end one way or another. And if 9/11 was the catalyst, so be it. I know I sound like some good 'ole boy, but that's how I feel it has to be.

 

Then step up and support our President.
