edit: or an even better analogy. your buddy has been fucking your girlfriend for a long time. you know it, the whole town knows it and a lot of people have even seen it. she tells you that they're not fucking and haven't for a long time. half of the town is telling you that they saw your girlfriend and your buddy bangin in the bushes at the park last week. whom do you believe? it's the same scenario. until there is documented evidence that the WMD have been eliminated from Iraq, common sense tells me to believe that there are still in fact WMD hidden somewhere in that country.

 

So if they are not there where are they? These are unaccounted for WMD that were there the last time UN weapons inspectors were in Iraq before Saddam kicked them out and Clinton sent in some cruise missles. Then there was a nice period of 3 years where Saddam had plenty of time to hide or give the weapons to other nations or organizations. I hope they are hidden, there has certainly been no proof they were destroyed, and if they were given to other nations or terrorist groups then it is quite clear that the multilateralism of the UN has once again been one huge failure. You really have no leg to stand on in this argument and trying to do so proves your naievity and ignorance.

Well why don't you get your hand puppets out for a bit of kiddie theater too? Analogies? What this guy really needs to be thinking on is HOW we are going to find them. Does he really want to stick to his "mythical missile" theory just to be obstinate and left winged? Or does he want to join the rest of us over here in reality and worry about finding these WMD before they find us in a tall building..or when we're watching a football game and then Ben affleck will have to save the world. Personally, I'd rather get to them before he does because if we don't then we'll just have to see more JLo.

 

You bring up a very good point. Rather than the left being concerned with where these KNOWN weapons went...they are quick to criticize the Bush administration for going to war on a false pretext simply because they have not yet been found. The fact that these weapons have not been found is very troubling to me. I mean Iraq admitted to having them, the UN weapons inspectors saw them and documented them...and now they are gone and there is zero evidence that these weapons were destroyed. So where are they? I hope they are well hidden within Iraq and it is only a matter of time that they are found...I pray to God that they have not been given to another nation or to a terrorist group.

 

exactly... the weapons that are accounted for aren't the really scary ones. it's the ones that we have documentation of that haven't turned up yet that are the scary ones.

 

but dont you guys consider they're playing the same game the US and the USSR played for the last 40 years? It doesnt matter what they tell the world, they always have more. Trying to find them is pointless. There are alternate measures than the path taken because we're only going to have more attacks on Americans.

 

Actually the US and USSR know exactly what each other has and have been inspecting each other for years.

Until one is actually used on the US or one of our allies during a terrorist attack.

I think the path the Clinton Administration took is a 180 degree opposit from the path the Bush administration has taken. How many terrorist attacks on US interests around the world happened on Clinton's watch? It took one for Bush to say "**** You!" to the terrorists and finally do something about it. And because the US and our allies have been so pro-active now then re-active before we are nabbing terrorists left and right and removed them from their base of operations.

I pray there is not another attack on America...but if there is I hope it is through conventional means and not unconventional. The latter will cause more death and destruction than the former.

 

Which is precisely why we must continue to take a proactive approach world wide. If our President wasn't taking that approach, I would wager there would have been a few more devastating attacks on our homeland since 9/11. Again, anyone who thinks otherwise is very naieve. Terrorists will continue to plot horror untill we destroy them. As I've said before, they do not care about treaties, handshakes, and agreements. They could care less if Isreal and Palestine get along. Terrorist see nothing but death. They don't listen to reason. They are animals, and we must treat them as such. Like a ravenous pit bull..... at some point, they must be put down.
