disappointing indeed.

11pm CST / 9pm PST is pretty damn late for me. I cut off the gaming at 12:15CST.

Chanky and maybe B-roni:

On the Olevia there's an "aspect" button on the remote. When playing the 360, set it to "1:1". Instead of stretching the image to fill all corners, the screen will display a natural output resolution.

By doing so, the image shrinks down about 1.5 inches in each corner. It brings down the size of the screen and creates a black border. For some reason, it's much easier on the eyes. (I typically play from 5 to 6 feet away.)

I hate playing with strangers now. My Halo 3 playtime is greatly influenced by who's on. : \

I assumed that when I set my resolution on my xbox to output at 1080i, there was no 'stretching'

I'm at 720p. i wonder how this would effect the 1080i folks.

The TV has a true resolution of 1366 by 768. @ 1280 by 720, there is a stretch to fill the screen. :hs:

Why would you be at 720p?

That is resolution for VGA in on your computer, not HD

The progressive scan refreshes at twice the rate of the 1080i (60fps vs 30). The 1080i has more raw pixels on the screen, but isn't too good for fast moving sequences ... especially sports.

I wonder if this is causing the Halo lag you were talking about the other night.
