Xbox One Crew w. big enises ... Halo MCC HYPE THREAD! (est. 2007)
I want that sniper at the end, though.
Need some help from the halo crew.
Considering buying a 4gb (new gen, obviously. h primarily for Halo. Like I said earlier, caught the halo bug last weekend.
1st) I can't believe they're only $200. Christ, I just sold my three year old one for $125 a month ago. I feel like a dick.
2nd) Me and the wifey have 1 tv in the apartment.(32in 720p) I see this as a problem. h:
3st) Wifi FTW. This thing sounds beast mode.
However:
-How's the chipset? Haven't heard of RROD's yet, but haven't looked really.
-Is it justifiable to purchase a console for a game?
Thanks in advance. h:

The most bang for your buck = non-slim console. They're brick houses. The last of the 360 fats are extremely stable. Jasper chipset = proven commodity.
But, you can always be a man about it ...
Don't bother with the 4GB for $200. There's a problem with Reach and the non-HDD consoles, it doesn't work. Also, there's hardware problems with the slims. RRoD, can you believe it?

Seriously blows that they are having issues with them. So is reach just unstable with those consoles, or will it not boot at all?
I was looking at the pre-kinect gens as well. The tasty point of the new gen for me is the wi-fi. I don't have a spare 50' of cable laying around, and I don't want to drop $90 on a wireless adapter FTL.
This can be taken to PM if you want so I don't trash up this page.
Naw, no need to PM. We like activity on the forums.
The previous gen 360's had 2 processors, a CPU and GPU. The final chipset for the dual processor setup is known as "Jasper". The RRoD was fixed by taking the chip architecture from 90nm to 65nm, drastically reducing heat.
Red ringing a Jasper is near impossible. You just don't reach the temperatures needed to break the thing.
Microsoft was able to shrink the motherboard on the slims by moving from a dual chip architecture to a single. The "Valhalla" motherboards now have the CPU and GPU on the same chip dye. Although 65nm in size, the power needed to run this chip is massive. This is causing the good old RRoD again. I would really give Microsoft some time to analyze what's going on here.
With that being said, this is much like looking for girls ... you can go for the new hotness, pretty on the outside, not much else going on ... or ... you can go for the fat chick with great qualities on the inside.
