Xbox One Crew w. big enises ... Halo MCC HYPE THREAD! (est. 2007)
:lmao: that's nasty.
Yesterday, an Elite tumbled past me and executed the assassination animation. It was awful. :wtc:
YouTube- Return Fire!
If I were to pull this off, I'm sure I'd still be screaming into my mic today.

All of those tips in the betabusters video were new to me. Goddamn!
In the jetpack ninja vid, did the guy die because of the jetpack thruster burn!?

so far, the only game type i like is swat. crazy king is ok
The weapons need some major tweaking.
Hammer - combine the sprint with the MASSIVE lunge, you're running through teams without taking damage
Rockets - the blast radius isn't like H3 at all. It's really wide and seems to go around corners too.
DMR - feels like a pea shooter. 5 perfect shots for a kill ... yeah, that's not happening very often.
Pistol - over hyped piece of crap.
Melee - a complete joke. AR + hit ... guy is still alive. AR again, still alive.
Assassinations - the animation is getting me killed. That might be my fault, but still ... it kinda sucks. Also, when I want the animation to go off, I just end up punching the guy in the back of the head ... he turns around and kills me.
Game physics kinda stink too. My Spartan feels like a fatass. The guy has absolutely no hops. I can't even jump up stairs or simple ledges anymore.
The slayer game types have completely evolved into power weapon hording and camping. This is only because the other weapons don't kill at all. So, you have weapons that don't do anything + the ability to get out of harm's way easier = lots ... lots of frustration.
I really hope this gets fixed.
You know how people say "Empire Strikes Back" was the best in the series? That never made sense to me because there was a movie after that. I always thought that most things get better with sequels, especially games. H3 had better not be the pinnacle of the series.

Also, I think a part of the gripe with the game so far is being over exposed to 2 levels. I know it's a beta, but spending 2 LONG nights on the same maps really makes me dislike them.
The maps are so camper friendly. Finding people in Swordbase isn't easy. Power House has a ton of stuff in the way. It's really hard to get shots in on anything unless they're right next to you.
Again, this is all fixable ... but these might not have been the 2 best maps to pick for the Beta.

Yeah, I really think a lot of changes need to be done before this gets released. 90% of the weapons are useless if you go against a team who just wants to camp or hide with the power weapons.
The hammer, sword, or shotgun with speed burst or invis are nearly unstoppable.
The shotguns range is a lot bigger than Halo 3, but I don't think that hurts the game. Just when people are camping with them, it's pretty retarded.
The lunge on both the sword and hammer is ridiculous, especially with sprint. There isn't much you can do to stop these. There are just too many corners and places to hide. Giving people the ability to be invisible every round pretty much sucks.
The DMR is a terrible replacement for the BR. It's pretty much a sniper rifle, without the power. It's near impossible to 4 or 5 shot people with it for a couple reasons.
For one, it doesn't shoot quick enough, and if you shoot too fast, the recoil messes up your shot. You have to have 4 or 5 sniper type shots since there is no spray.
Second, people just run or roll out of the way.
I am not sure what they can do to make it more balanced. As Drew said, it's mostly just AR's spraying wildly with beat downs, grenade spamming, or the power weapons and camping. It really takes away any skillful gaming, and makes you just want to hide.
I guess since it's only the beta, we can't complain too much. But, IMO, it needs quite a bit of work.
EDIT - Wow, we were both writing up our complaints at the same time.

melee is way faster too. i get hit twice when i feel like i shouldn't be able to hit again yet.
i'm also dying in the time it takes to stop running and ready the weapon i have. definitely can't be running around corners or into rooms.
drew, as far as the assassinations, do you have the melee button on rapid? i wonder if that changes anything.

Agreed on both. Not only is melee obviously 100 times weaker, it also is too fast.
I really miss being able to take shields down with the AR and then knowing when to punch and knock them out. Trying that now, I just end up getting punched twice in the time I am AR'ing them.
This shouldn't feel like a street fight. :squint:
