Xbox One Crew w. big enises ... Halo MCC HYPE THREAD! (est. 2007)
I could have really used your help last night. We spent like an hour testing and trying to get it working right.
It does sound really good, though. I have to put a pair of headphones in to my PC to hear myself, and it's realllly quiet. But I guess it sounds pretty good on live.
I am pretty sure some dude had a dream about my account last night.
I am surprised I actually remembered to bring the receipt in to work with me. h:
Jamie is going to get tortured. haha

i've just resolved to not hearing myself. i think the hardest part is the delay, but i think when i tried it last, it wasn't as delayed as before. the first night i was using it, it was about a second behind which means alot in game.
i think i still need to tweak mine a little, but if i talk in a slightly higher voice, it sounds better.

The only shitty thing is that I can't hear teammates voices in my headset, only from the speakers. So it's hard to understand what you guys are saying some times.
i have an idea on how to fix this, but i'll have to test it out. my theory is to split both the mic and controller, sending each to an input and an output of the computer. and then have the computer and just the middle man or something. i don't really expect it to work, but you never know.
yeah, that's my problem too. especially happens when the game gets loud like explosions or someone's firing right when someone's talking. that was the nice thing about the headphones is that the chat and game volumes were separate, but with this setup, they're not.

The reason we can't hear anyone in the mic headset if because of the PC's microphone port. I don't think it's made to send audio back out.
So you must be using the audio out on your tv for the xbox audio, right? Is that still going in to your fancy headset you got? I think it would be easier to hear everyone if I had a headset/headphones. I have to turn my speakers up really loud to hear everyone right now.

and that's exactly why you can't hear anyone in the mic headset. so here's my theory, and i think it'll work. i'm gonna split everything:
splitter from controller with one side going to the input on the computer and that just passes the audio back to the headphones port. second side goes to speaker output on computer which will have just my voice going through it.
splitter from mic/headset with one side going to the mic port on the computer, and the other side going to the headphones port on my computer. that'll be passing chat audio to my headset. i might be able to join the speaker output (with my voice) and the headphones output with the chat audio together into the headset so i hear both together.
i got computer audio into my headset, but couldn't do my voice because i don't the right adapter. i'm pretty sure the xbox stuff is doing mic audio on side (i think left) and chat audio on the other side (probably right) so my mono adapters make it not work right. i'll be picking up new adapters tonight for experiments.
went to radio shack to get all the adapters and stuff for my tests and spent way too much. oh well. way more than would be worth it for this, but i'll let you know how it goes anyway.
Yeah, the first time I went to radio shack, I bought a bunch of the wrong shit. Spent like $30 that time, and couldn't use any of it.
I never return things, so yeaaaah. Oopsie.
