IBM Guru... or any computer guru
just got an IBM r51 and it has that annoying chip password when i start it up. i want to deactivate it... anywai?

that annoying chip password is an anti theft device of sorts. it keeps information safe in the event the laptop is stolen. you're better off giving it back to the owner, cuz there's no way in hell you'll disable it. looks like the BIOS password is doing it's job...:usa:

no i have the password... i just dont like that feature. I deactivated it thru the setup but now i get some other annoying pass word thing by windows log on. that stupid ctrl alt del longon thing how do i deactivate that now!!
