I ended up with a huge oil mess to clean up, and some weird annoying sounds coming from the pump. Decided to just remove the PS belt rather than getting it fixed (at least for the time being)
Ended up actually feeling the car got a little more power by removing that belt... obviously not a lot of power, but just enough to feel that it gained something. Steering is not THAT hard, even with my 225 sticky tires. Just a little hard for parking, but nothing out of this world.

PS. Gotta confess... I was too lazy to loosen the pivot and tensioner bolts to remove the belt so I just cut the bitch with some scissors. If and when I decide to get the pump replaced I'll just get a new belt.

that fricken sun just gets ya.

LOL haven't replaced the pump yet, when I get it done I'll let you guys know. Gotta replace my muffler first, thing's falling apart and makes a horrendous amount of noise when I gun it.

My walrus died, and I don't think I'm going to get a new one. I've started getting used to driving without the PS, and it's getting pretty easy. So I don't think I'll be looking for a new one.

How hard is it to gut out the PS system? just pull the pump off the mount, take out the reservoir... and find where the other tubing goes and plug it? I think I had read in another thread that theres more than 50lbs you can shed there.
