too many cars getting stolen . . . ???
because we live in a time of fucked up thieves for instance the guy with the hatch he just recovered, we should discuss what alarms and security measures are best for our little prides and joy. I have several buddies that use to boost cars and most of them said that if a car had a Clifford alarm, they wouldn't fuck with it. ??? they never gave me a reason why.
So let me ask, what alarms or security precautions do you guys find best ??? alarms, ignition collars, cut off switches, pedal locks, etc...
anybody have experience boosting (don't have to say you do) but what would turn you off the most ????
i know this is a tech forum, but because of many recent stolen cars, including my own, i thought it would get more looks in a tech forum.

autolock ? that is the pedal lock right ? where can you get those ??? also, is an alarm worth it ? i mean, nobody cares when an alarm goes off and neither do theives. I was thinking of just getting a pedal lock and a fuel pump cuttoff and a starter cutoff and strategically place them where no one will find them. you think that is sufficient ?

when i do my new setup, im gonna have a cover on my ecu so i can easily access my chip and ill remove it so the car wont run. so even if they steal my cd player etc, they won t get the most important stuff

Might as well do nothing at all unfortunately. They (thieves) will either tow it or shred your interior when they can't start it. I know it's a crappy way to think but all alarms do is keep casual thieves and the like away. If you steal for a living, you probably know how to circumvent just about anything.

I have a Clifford alarm with a backup batter. So if you cut the main battery terminal the thief is stilll screwed. Also use the autolock (the pedal lock) and was planning on installing a kill switch too. And my cars are parked in my garage.
But yeah if someone wants your car they will do whatever it takes to get it.
