Alternate fuels, but what about alternate lubricants?
So there's alternative fuels, for when the world runs too low on oil to be economical. But what about lubricants? And plastics? What's the alternative to them?

10 to 1 the replacements will use soy or other organic material as the distillate base. I'm all for bio-diesel and reclaimed methanol fuels. At some point in the future, a bio-engineered soy-based diesel will be economically viable, so I figure the petrol-based industries will follow in the wake of that shift.
All the more reason to recycle.

Ethanol (oil from corn) is getting very popular in this state. IL already uses up to 10% in all gas and some stations down south provide a 70% mixture.
I also think they're using it for other applications too. (engine lube, etc ...)
