Default So i'm thinking about doing a tune up?

what exactly needs to be done on my car it's nearing 120k?
I know i need to change the timing chain and water pump but what else? (mechanic will do this part)
should i attempt this (the tune up) on my own or let my mechanic do it?

might as well do the fuel filter, air filter, and pcv valve. those are pretty cheap.

how mechanically inclined are you?

timing belt is a pretty big step up from brakes. pick up a manual for your car (should have one anyway), see what's entailed in doing it and see if you think you can. i'd either A) give yourself a day or two when you have nowhere to go and a mechanic friend to call if it goes awry (this is cheaper and you gain a lot of knowledge) or B) take it to a decent mechanic and be done with it (costs a little more but no worries mon).
