It sounds a hell of a lot burlier than a 1.5L, doesn't it? It made me proud. While I actually liked that sound, it was deafening. My neighbors didn't say anything but I'm sure they wanted to. That universal muffler made a huge difference, but it's still :loco: loud and :barf: stinky.

I see a lot of people posting threads about strict VA cops giving tickets for loud exhausts, and I don't get it. I live less than a mile from a county precinct. I drove it around like that for over a month just trying to stay off the throttle in public places, but there really was no hiding it. It would drown out everything in traffic, and EVERYBODY looked. Nobody would race me. It was ridiculous.

Here are some updated pics... man it's so quiet now. I can actually hear the intake. No more stinkiness. Plus it's LEGAL!

Whoopee... stock exhaust on a civic.

I won't miss this.

$360 for an "oem-style" exhaust???? why dont u just get an aftermarket one instead?

and damn. those stock civic exhausts look like the thickness of a coffee stirrer

Correct... a full cat-back... I would still have needed a $140 converter+ A-pipe, 2 gaskets and a bolt kit. So actually, it would have cost about $560, and it would still have been louder. This little 1.5L doesn't need anything different than what got bolted on. Whoever buys this car from me will probably do a bigger engine swap than I did, and least they'll have a smog-legal exhaust until they do.

It's still a half-inch bigger than what was on there. Tomorrow when I'm driving 8 hours to Roanoke and back, I'll be glad it's stock. Did I mention it's really quiet?
