Got a ticket need help!
I just recently got a ticket for "failing to yield to a pedesterian." What happened was this lady cross the street, on a cross walk, right at the moment that I was getting closer to her. She practically darted out like there were no cars coming! I stopped and then she continued walking. Then this cop pulls me over and said that I almost hit her and that I was suppose to yield for her. If I almost hit her then why didn't she flinch or jump or anything. It didn't even bother her. She just kepted walking. And, if I didn't yield for her then how did she cross the street in front of me? The crosswalk by the way is painted white and wasn't at an intersection. The cop was being a bitch about everything, almost refusing to tell me what I did wrong. She couldn't even give me a straight answer and told that if I wanted to fight...go to court. I had to ask her a couple times before piecing together what I did wrong.
My questions are, 1.) How much will the ticket cost 2.) Will there be a point on my record 3.) And, do I have a chance of winning if I fight it?
Thanks for any help.

Get organized, take pictures of the intersection, look up the vehicle code for the citation on the ticket, fight the bitch. If she fails to appear, you win, if she does and you make a good argument, you win or at the least get a reduced fine. Definitely fight it, but get it together first

I was able to beat a ticket using the help from there and my fiance just got a ticket today as well, but I know that we can beat it knowing what I've learned.
I recommend joining, because the small fee is a fraction of what it will cost you in the long run.
Since each state is different once you're a member you can get state specific help.
This isn't just for speeding tickets, but that's their primary focus.

Also from a quick search on google I found the Ca Laws which you can search. I found this, specifically check section (b).
21950. (a) The driver of a vehicle shall yield the right-of-way to
a pedestrian crossing the roadway within any marked crosswalk or
within any unmarked crosswalk at an intersection, except as otherwise
provided in this chapter.
(b) This section does not relieve a pedestrian from the duty of
using due care for his or her safety. No pedestrian may suddenly
leave a curb or other place of safety and walk or run into the path
of a vehicle that is so close as to constitute an immediate hazard.
No pedestrian may unnecessarily stop or delay traffic while in a
marked or unmarked crosswalk.
(c) The driver of a vehicle approaching a pedestrian within any
marked or unmarked crosswalk shall exercise all due care and shall
reduce the speed of the vehicle or take any other action relating to
the operation of the vehicle as necessary to safeguard the safety of
the pedestrian.
(d) Subdivision (b) does not relieve a driver of a vehicle from
the duty of exercising due care for the safety of any pedestrian
within any marked crosswalk or within any unmarked crosswalk at an

Without witnesses it is basically going to be your word and your passenger's word against the police officer, who is paid to make those types of calls. Unless the cop pulls a no show at the trial, you will most likely lose without some type of another witness.
