Well, pizza delivery is a service job, meaning they get paid for their service. If they perform well, they should be paid well. If they perform poorly, they are paid poorly. Their payscale is made up of an hourly wage for their time, mileage for wear on their car, and tips for their service. Therefore, they earn their tip money. If you think "straight up dude, fuk tips," you shouldn't be ordering pizza. They are just trying to make an honest living. (asian thinking)

maybe this is a reason i dont order pizza nor delivery and i believe that they should get paid well if they perform well and if they dont get paid enuf, then that really sucks, dont go sqeezing money out of the customers, that is how you lose them.

i really dont think that is how you make an honest living, by ripping people off.

Between general liability and driver liability, I'd estimate that the typical store pays about $2800/mo for insurance.

Moreover, since petrol is at or over $2.00/gal almost everywhere, I don't see anything wrong w/passing along that cost to the people who are costing the money.

I don't think I'd ever do that myself, but I don't think it's all that queer that a restaurant does it.

Charging delivery fees is short sighted, IMHO. You run the risk of hurting your drivers, without whom you cannot run the business.

I don't like when a small retailer passes along credit card fees, but I understand why he feels he has to do it.

They make bank off pizza. Even more then most think. I know two large pizza store owners. The two that i know, dont charge for delivery under 10 miles. Becuase, there is no need to.

Round table charges now. Becuase they are dumb. It only hurts the driver. And the round table in my area, is slow. No tip for you. I tip the other drivers of diffrent pizza places.
This one pizza place, drives 25 - 30 miles to my house. Yes i make sure to tip them well.
