Short throw vs. long throw shifters
I've had my GS-R for about a year now, and everyone that drives my car comments on how short my shifter is! It's a stock throw, but others have said that it's even shorter than non-GSR models??? Also, my brother in-law even says it's shorter than his BMW shift (BMW 318iS). I think I'd like to try a short throw shifter because when i sit in a WRX at car shows, im absolutely amazed at how short the throw is. Anybody have any suggestions on which shifter to get? How much? Ive seen B&M shifters go for $130!! But APC has them for like $40...Does it improve performance? Do I have to get it professionally installed? How much to get it installed...Because I don't know how to install it myself, and I'm afraid I'd fawk up my tranny if i do.

please do a search,..just a few points though,..the stock GSR shifter is a great shifter,..secondly if you decide to get a short shifter,.. do it yourself,...its a EASY install,..and i HIGHLY recommend getting bushings for your new short throw shifter,..they run the most for like 20 bucks,..ES bushings

E36 318iS does not have a short shifter from the factory.
it's in fact very long throws. the E36 model with the shortest shifer was the M Roadster and the M Coupe. swapping in the shifter from either of those cars into other E36 models was a very popular upgrade.
now try a STi that bitch had a super short shift!

Integras have great shifters, way better than the majority of OEM shifters I've ever driven. A few people that have driven it asked what type of shifter I had and were amazed when I told them it was stock (It was stock then). That's why I wouldn't fawk it up by getting a cheap short shifter, 'cause they feel like crap.
I'd go with Neuspeed. If that's too expensive for you, go with Skunk2 (which I haven't felt, but I hear is really good quality). IMO, B&M shifters feel cheap, and sit in the wrong position because they don't have the dual bend like the stock, Neuspeed, and Skunk2 shifters.

Prices? I see the Neuspeed one is like $140 @ Nopi Online. Price doesnt really matter, $140 in the world of mods is pretty cheap!

I paid almost $200 for mine at a time when they were going for ~$230...it was worth every penny.
