Especially for the delivery dude from this one chinese place that I order from all the time--it's always the same dude. :chuckles:

When I'm in a bar I always throw down a dollar per drink that I order. Tips means "to insure prompt service" and in a crowded ass bar it's definitely true. If I've been tipping a buck a drink I get served faster than the guy who's with his buddies and the bartender just knows is going to order like five drinks rapid-fire and drop down a buck or two at best. Plus at this one bar near campus that I go to the bartenders are friends of mine from freshman year so I tip them a lot and they hook me up with really cheap drinks and of course, better service.
i totally forgot about bars. i've learned that tipping well also nets stronger drinks

Yeah at certain places that don't necessarily pour so generously I do sometimes notice my drinks getting a bit stronger as the night goes on. That's usually good but sometimes if I'm drinking something I actually want to taste good (like, say, a Bombay Sapphire and tonic) then too much booze can be a bad thing.

when we waited 2 hrs, the cook was on his break and we were the only ones thr, makes me angry and i want to vandalize the place saying, "Poor Service!"

otherwise, my family usually tips as minimum has possible.
so you go there over and over, and you dont leave tips, and you get poor service:thinking:

the logic in that is overwhelmingh:

What is the tax over there? It's only 4.5% here, and 9% is a bit low.

I range from about 14% to 25%. I'm always with a ladyfriend, so I'm generally in a good mood, which is reflected in the tips.

Strangely enough, the only two times I would not have left a tip I was being treated to dinner. One was the Olive Garden (first and last time there) and Romano's Maccaroni Grill (also, first and last time.) I make it a habit to never go to Italian sit-down places any more unless they exclusively serve pizza and subs.

:werd: And I never, never, never tip on food quality. Its not my waitresses fault that the cooks suck.

Haircuts ~ $10
Nails ~ $10
Starbucks, Junga Juice, etc ~ $2 per drink ordered.
Food delivery at home ~ 20% still
Flower Delivery people ~ $5

Hmmm, its too GD early.....thats all I can think of....

Tax here = 8.25 so i double and round. And eff looks I dont care if she hot or not, its the service that counts.

Once we had a big group for mothers day (~20 ppl) w/1 server & 2 busboys, she did a kick ass job, that on top of the already automatically added 18% tip ($108) (bill was over $600, $24.95/person plus extra for drinks) I gave her an extra $20 to keep for herself. Cuz I guess tips are then split btwn the busboys and bartendars.

Then just last week at Santan Row, I ordered a pizza from this place, which I'll never return to. We sat down at the bar, order pizza and drinks. We had to ask for our drinks like 3 times, the pizza never showed up after 30 mins. they said 5 more mins which was 20 mins, (effers never made it). ended up being semi burnt and nasty. Bill came (had to ask 3 times for it also. Left a huge fat zero with a line drawn though it for the tip.
