how do you tip?

tipping goes hand in hand with the quality of service in my book. good service or trying to on a busy nite = usually 20%, poor service/rude attitude on busy or slow nite = tip: DONT PISS IN THE WIND!

I don't eat in lots of sit down restaurants, but when I do I usually make sure it's at least 15% unless I had some kind of problem with the service. I do order a lot of delivery though and since those are usually pretty small checks (like 15 to 20 bucks) I make sure I throw down like 3 or 4 bucks. Especially for the delivery dude from this one chinese place that I order from all the time--it's always the same dude. :chuckles:
When I'm in a bar I always throw down a dollar per drink that I order. Tips means "to insure prompt service" and in a crowded ass bar it's definitely true. If I've been tipping a buck a drink I get served faster than the guy who's with his buddies and the bartender just knows is going to order like five drinks rapid-fire and drop down a buck or two at best. Plus at this one bar near campus that I go to the bartenders are friends of mine from freshman year so I tip them a lot and they hook me up with really cheap drinks and of course, better service.

at this one pho place, we waited 2 hrs for our food, received cockroaches in the food and the waiter was sipping on his drink but we did not receive any. The fukin cook was too lazy to make crispy chow mein, so the waiter denied my order. The worst part was that we kept going back because it was the closest one thr but left no tips.
when we waited 2 hrs, the cook was on his break and we were the only ones thr, makes me angry and i want to vandalize the place saying, "Poor Service!"
otherwise, my family usually tips as minimum has possible.

if i don't get sufficient service at a restaurant, i'm outta there. like if i get seated in a restaurant, and it takes more than 5-10 minutes for a server to show up to take drink orders, i leave. screw 2 hours!
