ok i didnt' read shit here so flame me if i repeat you
The way to lose weight is HIIT (High Intensity Interval Training).
Basically as the name states.. you can do it running, biking, swimming, back flipping, ect. Just do a normal 2-4 minute warmup then 30 seconds 60% max speed 30 seconds 90% 30 60% 30 90% ect. Usually starting you want to do about 8 sets of that with a 2-4 minute cool down.. eventually try to work up to 15 sets of 60/90% with a final 1-2 minute 100% all out until you puke sprint.
As for the building and all that stuff just goto www.johnstonefitness.com his story is wonderful and you can learn ALOT from it. From diet to bulking up he explains it all and the forum is full of helpful people.
Or you can aim me or pm me here i can share some other helpful tips if you want my aim is Baget2
good luck and keep pushing!

Here is some info on that...
Yes, but you have to look at the calories burnt per minute figures, since biking 1 mile is much faster than swimming it.
Here is another table with per minute data :
Bicycling :
13 miles per hour--.045 calories/pound/minute
15 miles per hour--.049 calories/pound/minute
17 miles per hour--.057 calories/pound/minute
19 miles per hour--.076 calories/pound/minute
Running :
5 miles per hour--.061 calories/pound/minute
6 miles per hour--.074 calories/pound/minute
10 miles per hour--.114 calories/pound/minute
Swimming
20 yards/minute--.032 calories/pound/minute
45 yards/minute--.058 calories/pound/minute
50 yards/minute--.070 calories/pound/minute

As for foods, I don't know I just eat anything and EVERYTHING that's good, I'm probably not the best person to offer advice on nutrition.
And congrats on the weight loss man. You're doing it the right way by exercising and losing the weight over a period of time and not trying to lose it all at once.
