I remember there being an issue with some of the initial run of the A70 and A80 where they produced kind of soft images. Still, with that much resolution and a little tweaking in photoshop you should be able to produce a fine result either for viewing on a monitor or for printing.

If you're looking at the A80 you might also want to check out the S45. Same basic features but it's a bit smaller and I think is about the same price.

that was the reason why i returned my a70. i would think by now they would have fixed that little problem. a simple quick fix in PS will do it, but i dont feel that i should have to h: in the attached pic, you can see the line where it was altered in PS.

I agree a quick fix in PS is not acceptable considering the camera is supposed to turn out a certain quality without any touchup at all. Photoshop is to be used for altering an already quality image, adding or subtraction of color, and general play or creation rather than fixing a cameras fuk ups from the factory.

Keep looking for a different camera this one is not worth it at all if you are looking for a shoot, upload and send/print camera that is worth having.

Yeah I think those are a lot better pictures and more representative of what that camera should be capable of on a regular basis....I thought it was odd a Canon of all cameras would kick out crap like the first set of pics.
