I generally don't mind threads going OT but geez guys its not something I can smile about right now. My dad is getting dropped from his insurance, he now has a shit load of points on his license. Why is his car my concern, well my dad has been retired for the last 10 years and has a $0 bank account. My brother and sister in law take care of him. Half the money for the Elantra which got totaled came from me.
Now if you guys wanna whore a thread then go whore some other thread. I am really pissed/upset... it suddenly makes a lot of things I was looking forward to seem pointless.

Again, I want to extend my sympathies. In my humble opinion, my advice to you would be to stop supporting your father. If he doesn't learn to deal with the consequences of the accident and the points on his license, then he'll probably make the same bad choices again and again.
IMHO, you are owed $1800. I, personally would not put down money on anything involving vehicles or insurance.
If I had done the same in my teenage years, my parents would have done the same thing - and I'd be on the bus.
IMHO, it's time for your dad to face the music. I sincerely hope things get resolved for you soon. :happysad:

Him and my mom already make life hell for my brother and my sister in law in the few hours they are home. Without a car they will be home 24/7, and if we don't get a new car for him he will tell us that we are failures as kids and that we can't accept him making mistakes. So its pretty much we are f*cked either way. I guess we'll keep buying him cars until someone loses a limb or dies.
