Default Right to Repair - Write your congressmen/women

Go here for some more information: http://www.righttorepair.org and to write your congressmen electronically.

In a nutshell, the bill would force manufacturers of vehicles to provide at a reasonable cost, all the information and tools currently available only to detailers and shops, on how to work on our new more computerized vehicles, to us - the general consumer.

Does this mean cheap tools and great manuals? Possibly not, but it does mean the aftermarket world can get involved on tools and special tuning/repairing equiptment for our vehicles, and therefor lowering the price of tools and electrical schematics, computers, etc -- so we aren't FORCED to go to the dealership for minor shit anymore.

Go to: www.righttorepair.org and just sign electronically. Put in your zip code, or your address to find your 9 letter zip code -- and write ALL of your congressmen/women.

I should note, to date 69 congressmen have endorsed in; but no democrats. Lame. Let's get this rolling guys.

http://thomas.loc.gov/cgi-bin/bdquer...8:HR02735:@@@P

URL to the list of congressmen/women currently supporting the bill. The party status is on the left side of their name.
