Default My Universal Rims Won't Fit

I recently bought some 18x7.5 rims and although they are universal, when I tried to put them on my 96 Accord, they didn't fit either hole set. In the widest set my lugs were off by about a couple centimeters and they just would not go on. Does anyone know about an adapter or has had this problem and managed to fix this?

Just return them to the place you bought them from and ask for a set that does fit your car.

Most places dont do returns. He coulda bought from ebay. He coulda bought from a friend. If he bought from a place, then it's not their fault he doesn't know what fit.

there are other patterns for 4 lugs besides 100 and 114.5 (domestic car sizes maybe? I dont know)... so yea you're screwed. Unless they were made for your car but are so cheap they didnt measure precisely enough. G/L

He probably got wheels that were meant for a civic and a focus (4x100 and 4x108).

Yes I did buy them from ebay. I wrote down the offset for them when I got them two months ago and now I've misplaced it. They are Edge Admiral rims, I don't think that they are that cheap to where the cut wasn't precise, but it was my first time buying rims and I thought that universal literally meant universal, no stipulations. I've been searching all day to find the offset on the internet but I know the maker is out of business.

Could someone clarify what an offset is? I'm probably gonna have to sell the rims anyway but I know I would have to find out the exact bolt pattern and offset.
