Default jdm center console install ?

ok i have a full jdm center console. . . i went to install today and got everything off, went to put the new one on and it doesnt fit. what is going on? the part for your shifter on the console is backwards in japan from the oem and when i line it up it doesnt line up with the holes for the armrest eliminator. have any of you put one of these on? i have a 01 gsr by the way. thanks in advance.

Im not too sure but it could be because it is made for a right hand drive car and the reason it doesn't line up because everything is opposite.

well duh...we know what the problem is...what we need to know is if anyone's done this before and how they made it fit? i haven't seen it yet, but im thinkin drill new holes...somebody with some experience with this help us out so we dont get anymore people restating the obvious

Without dimensions or detail pics, there's not much we can do to help.

Worst case scenario: Drill new holes in the JDM console, then plug, fill and paint the orignal holes.

Kicked on over to App/Cos...you may have better luck getting an answer there. h:

Unless you plan to do a lot of custom fabrication you are SOL!!! The JDM, British, or Australian ITR center consoles jwill not fit onto a USDM or EDM car. Your best bet is to toss it back onto eBay and buy one that will fit your car.

dude that sucks i got it custom painted . . . had it cleared with pearl in it.what a waste of money
