Default To paint or not to paint?

I'm gettin an engine swap here soon, and i've seen alot of people painting their engine blocks....i was thinking of painting my engine block black to continue the theme of Red/Black on my civic....anyone have any opinions?

I'd say leave it alone. If it's really dirty-- just clean it.

keep it bare metal, there is always a chance of chipping it when installing. i think its a waste of money, but if you really want to id paint it black.

if anything, repaint your engine bay.that'll help clean things up more than anything. it takes a little bit of extra work, but it's worth it.

paint your engine bay flat black it's easiest to keep clean, I like the way a painted engine block looks. Personally if I was doing it I would paint the block red it looks hot, but if you have a red valve cover go black on the block.

Keep it unpainted. But if you have access to the engine while it's out of the car, try and clean it the best you can.
