Then unhook your battery and reset the damn thing.

Should be alright; check the cap again. There was a service bulletin on a s2k board about that.

I'm sorry, but I don't believe you about the gas cap. Who has their friend check how tight the gas cap is before leaving the gas station?

Not that it matters, but..

It's a secondary O2 Sensor code most likely. Doesn't do anything except turn on the light.

You can wire in an O2 simulator, or if the O2 is still in the test pipe (ie, the test pipe has an O2S bung) then remove the O2, wrap it in tinfoil (just the sensor part!) and reinstall it in the test pipe. The tinfoil will burn off after 3-6 months but the CEL will be gone until then.

lol haha not that its relavant but i got a flat a few days back and i had took my spare out to put in a system lol bad move. so i decided to move my amp and put my tire back in. so i start driving and my check gas lid warning indicator came on so i checked the cap and all was fine so i figd id leave it like that and see if it went away next time i turned it on my check engine light came on and it began to stink like gas so i took it in. turns out the guys at the stereo shop had drilled into my gas tank when they put in my amp oh shit lol $1254 for a new tank and i didnt have my car for a week seemed like forever
