Default Cai And Exhaust

im going to eventually be getting a cold air intake and maybe exhuast. does the CAI give you any addl hp like anything worthwile, or the exhaust for that matter? both are pretty expensive for the s2k so i want to make sure its worth the money. also does anyone have a borla exhaust system? it was one of the better priced ones and i like borla.

Neither mods will give u a ton more power but it will be a little bit noticeable........its hard to eek out power from an already pretty highly tuned 4 cyl that is NA............

Also, in terms of intakes I would probably go with the AEM maybe? Since I know they make quality shit! As for exhausts I think I'd like the Blitz/JIC/Veilside.........titanium is a must

you will quickly learn that EVERYTHING is expensive for the S!

i went with the comptech exhaust and am very happy. IMO it had the tone that i was looking for - and looks nice without being too big...plus it's convered under my factory warranty (that was important for me).

go to this site - it has a lot of S2K exhaust sound clips!

good luck!

No Intake/Exhaust Mods are going to give you any huge gains on the S. Exhaust CAN save you some weight which never hurts, but you need to get the better ones to do that.

If you are just looking for a more aggressive sound take off the airbox cover and have your Resonator removed by a muffler shop (about $25), voila

It's a LITTLE bit louder, enough to notice, and it has a nice little rasp to it. It's not intrusive in the slightest, no droning. I had an Apexi WS exhaust (about the quietes performance ex. you can find) on my old Civic, I'd say this is on-par or perhaps a little quieter than that.

I love it, I'm not a fan of most of the aftermarket ones since I don't want it rice-boy loud or annoying on the highway. Biggest difference is now you can actually hear the little burble from the rear end.

Good Intakes:

Mugen
J's Racing
ARC
Spoon
Injen
AEM

Exhausts:

Comptech
Amuse
Spoon
Fujitsubo

at most, you'll probably get 14hp. If you want to mod your car with best bang for your buck, upgrade transmission. Personally I think the S2000's suspension is already good from factory.

yes like they sad above... its really hard to gain on an s... but i will tell you this... if you do not modify your intake and you live in a rainy area and or with lots of puddles i would be carefull... most the intakes are pretty low, except the k&n and injen sr and the comptech... spoon has one with a snorkle aswell... exhausts ... spugen makes a great one... its a magnaflow exhaust but modified you gain a very lil, but its loud! amuse comptech, spoon are loud.. fujitsubo is lound if you get the single, duals are quiet, HKS is nice... my friend has a HKS... its not loud, and its not a big ol' fart can... not ricey sound... but ill say this if you get an exhaust make sure you look into dyno tuning... research if you need to dyno tune or not... some exhausts will cause you to lose hp becuase of a air sensor chip... hope i can help

Default Invidia?!?

Invidia makes an exhaust that may sound very deep, but trust me, it isn't the sound you want out of an S2000. If you want a really nice sound out of your car I'd recommend Mugen. Its not ricey-deep and its not fart-sound or anything like that. It'll give you more of a sound that should be coming out of a car in that class.
