Default Air Bypass Valve

I have CAI in my s2000 and I am considering an air bypass valve. I've never put one in a car before so I was just wondering if I should expect to do any cutting? I was told by a friend of mine that I would need to cut the pipe. Anyone know about the installation?

what is the point of a CAI if you're putting on a bypass valve? You'll have the same HP gains as any other short ram intake.

I guess for the sound. I got it for free from a friend who had it on his S and then sold it. CAI won't add much HP anyway to an S2000. I'm just scared of hydrolock.
