Default Holy crap I didn't expect to posting here so soon

Hey everyone, I've been lurking this forum for quite a while now. For the longest time I was looking into getting an S2K and finally was able to find a used one at a great price. As of lastnight I am the proud owner of an '00 Grand Prix White S2000. The car is in perfect condition and only has 30K miles on it . It's a nice li'l step up from my GSR.

Now, I know that this year had a serious issues with shifting really fast from 1-2 @ past 6K rpm. But I do know that honda can fix this problem and that redline transmission fluid can also prevent this from happening as much.

Besides that issue, is there anyting else I should know about this car? Possible mechanical problems or any specific product I should use to keep it running in great shape?

Well you should know that I am extremely jealous, and that you suck.

Just kidding! Excellent find, welcome to HAN, and I know you'll enjoy that bish.
I'm sure an actual owner will hit you back with some info sooner or later. Peace.

Welcome and congratulations on your new car!

As for the car, it's a different world from your GS-R. Take your time on learning how it reacts towards your driving. It's not as easy to learn as people think.

watch out for that grinding noise when you're shifting gears. Some MY00-01 S2Ks had that problem but fortunately its recognized by Honda and its repairable.

Could you be more specific? are we talking a little click or serious grinding?

Its a long grind after you shift gears (usually the lower gears). DON"T WORRY! It doesn't hurt the car or affect the performance in anyway. It just gets annoying. MY00-MY03 S2000s were all at risk, but the 00-01s had the most problems with the transmission grind. its on the Honda TSB.

Mine does the grind, but only from 1-2, i hear you can go to the dealership and they fix it...i guess the syncros arent any good...(correct me if im wrong.).

Go to s2ki.com..GREAT site for the S2000...best one on the net...dedicated strictly to it...great people, great forums..
OH and keep your plastic window clean, if not., it will always be crap...and careful when modding, that rear end wasnt made for a lot straight abuse....hard launches can lead to blowin the pumpkin.....just from experience....
