If it's an 04 I'd ask if they can hook up the HFP. Honestly teh HFP would be a deal maker or breaker for me. Even though the spoiler isn't all that great.

i agree with George on the price. i got my 03 for 15.5k and dont regret it at all. the car has tons of potential despite what some people may say. every time i drive it i love it even more. would be nice to get some decent coilovers and off these blown shocks, but thats my problem.

If you're trying to get the new civic Si, it's definatelly a good car and the rally style dash mounted 5-speed is fun to drive. I have an 02' EX coupe (5spd) with a 127 hp 1.7L vtec (the Si has a 160hp 2.0L) and even with the 127 hp it was still fun to whip around so I'm sure it'd be a great car. I totalled the EX 2 weeks ago when I hit some black ice and was trying to decide between a used WRX, used RSX type-S or new Si. The new Si are a bit over 19,000. The WRX and type-S were both about 17. I bought a 2003 RSX type-S with 12,800 miles on it on saturday for 16,700 and i love it. The 8000 RPM redline is a blast and the 40hp over the base RSX or Si doesnt hurt either. The base RSX weighs a bit less than the Si and the type S a bit more. I would recommend saving a few thousand and buying a used RSX type-S... 6spd, 200hp, 8000rpm redline, leather, 6 disc CD changer all for under 17000.... consider the RSX type-S... and remember its still a Honda so you cant go wrong.

I'll second that. I was driving a 12 year old accord in highschool.

I figured out the RSX-S costs me approx $650/mo to drive. Working part time for $7/ hr I'd have been scraping by to afford that in highschool

Haha me too, my first car was a 90civic hatch DX. 4speed power nothing, and custom moon roof that leaked. Get the EP3, buy it used. Dont waste ur parents money with a new one. Or or, get a 98 prelude type SH. Something to think about.

XXX

I bought my '05 a month ago today and paid around 17,400. The cars are not selling and if you can hold out for the '06's to come out the price will drop a lot!
I have talked to several people and they have said that Honda is only importing around 5k of the '05's and around 30k for the EP3 total! I had a '91 CRX Si before this and almost cried when I had to get rid of it but the '05 is growing on me every day. I hit 1500 miles yesterday and have only one major complaint. Some times it doesn't want to go into reverse. Honda said it was due to "performance engineering" and is just the way the cars are. But fear not! There is a simple solution that I was taught...put the car in neutral let the clutch out and push it back in then it will go into gear every time!!
If you have ever met someone that ownes an EP3 you will find that they/we are mostly in love with the cars. No, they are not the fastest, most powerful, cheapest but they are VERY fun to drive and being a Honda means a lot to me. MOST of all buy what you like to drive! Just look on the net for fan sites and you will see that people can be "freaks" ( I am one of them) about this car. I love the '04/'05's because the headlights/tail lights/wheels are better than the older ones. Look around for the cars. I looked at an '04 at carmax with 6k miles and it was $15k.
If you can get one I say go for it. If you want to help on your insurance get the side airbags.
Like I said before, if you can hold out for a few months for the '06's you will be able to get a great price for an EP3.
I hope this helps.
