Default Type-S or a wrx with some money into it?

What would you guys go with?? A 05 type s, or a wrx with some turbo work and exhaust. Considering that the price didnt matter. Which one would win on the 1/4 mile. Im guessing the wrx but i could be wrong. Later

I think your inquiry is too vague. An 05 WRX is roughly the same price as an 05 RSX-S. Unless you're talking about purchasing a used WRX. Personally, I'd go for the RSX-S. I drove one for a long time while with my ex-gf. They are sweet cars and have limited negatives to mention. I've heard mixed thoughts and experiences on the WRX. With Honda you always get that unquestionable reliability. It all comes down to what you want. The WRX will almost certainly be better in the 1/4 due to the AWD system. The launches are greatly improved. But on the highway, the WRX is no faster if not slower than the RSX-S. Third gear pulls are great in the Acura.

Good luck.

the only good WRX is the STi (besides the 2.5 rs)

the AWD of these cars is good, but even with turbo work you're only running with a 2.1 liter engine ( i believe)

also the STi has a reinforced block that will allow for higher boost than a stock WRX block.

the type-s on the other hand doesnt have AWD, but it is a good car, esspecially the new 05's.

it's really up to you, drive them both, dont be afriad to test drive them and dont be afraid to get on the throttle

the reason for that is AWD, with all those LSD's it loses alot of horse to the ground, but it makes for a hell of a launch in the 1/4. plus your car weighs alot less with the horse it's putting down.

plus i think the trannys gears are set up for rally-x and not totally acceleration.

It sucks but it's true. Those cars with just a few mods are crazy. Just a chip and a down pipe add like 60 or something horse.
