You want a durable and pleasing sound you say. That and a bit of a "gain" in power output. They do come at a price. Personal experience of over 3 years says get the Thermal cat-back. You won't be disappointed. Thus far it has seen PA roads, Alabama red-dirt roads, Pocono, BeaveRun and Watkins Glen and keeps on rumbling along. Our trips usually are 4 hours or more and in all that time-nary a headache. I only have to turn up the steroe a small amount to overcome the exhaust note. There is a band (2800-3500) where it is a bit louder but other than that it works great. The fit and finish is terrific as well.

Good luck :a:

Okay, if you want the best performance then put back on the factory
exhaust. Unless you have forced induction then you will likely lose
power with an aftermarket exhaust. Yea, it willl not sound as loud or
as fast but do you want it to sound fast or be fast?

id have to diagree with that one.
i have new stock exhaust from header back on my lude
at one time i had a obx SS exhaust.
there are 2 other ludes near me with my swap, both are 4G's
1 has stock exhaust like i now have, and one has OBX.
me and the OBX guy were always dead even when i had my OBX on. everything else minus driver were pretty much equal
now i have stock exhaust again, and i edge the other stock muffler lude out by a few cars, but the OBX lude kicks my ass, whereas it used to be a drivers race in the past.

the 4G VTEC muffler is quite restrictive, however the 4G VTEC lude is already very very fast stock, i beat a GTI VR6 with every imaginable bolt on, and i had my stock intake and exhaust, even had my paper filter. the VW guy was furious, and swore up and down that i was on a bottle of something. i even showed him and got a look at his shit. first VW guy ive met that wasnt a douchebag once he saw my motor.
