here goes..

i was with my car club and what not.. we got off at a rest stop.. my oil light starts to flicker.. under idling... not turning off...

check the oil.. 1/2 way... i top it off...

get going.. oil light is still flickering.. under idles.. i get going.. oil light flickering.. blinks... i keep going.. fawk it.. if it dies.. i want to get as far home as possible..

get to the toll booth.. under idles and the battery light goes on.. turn it on.. okay...

get going... oil light flickering.. this noise like a wooden roller coaster going fast is getting louder.. my acceleration fawking blows! the car is not shifting normaly! i dunno what it is.. all of a sudden.. all of the lights go on and my car dies.. my temp goes sky high... i'm praying as i get over that i don't hit my bf's car and i don't get hit..

i get over.. coolant is comming out of the resovouir.. i start balling my eyes out as my bf gets out of his car.. i just sat in his car for a while just crying.. i try to start it. it only cranks.. nothing else other than that hideous wooden roller coaster noise..

a guy from Exxon comes over and says "oh it's probably just the thermostat" i wanted to smack him so bad.. a thermostat that does that? umm i don't think so... i've had the thermostat go 2 times on that car.. i know what it does.. i'm not an idiot.. so he asks if i want more help.. i kindly say no and go sit in mike's car longer to get my composure before i call my parents...

cop comes along.. asks us what we're doing.. and what he wants us to tell the car club 1/4 mile up the road... gives mike **** about his radar detector..

i wait longer.. try to start the engine.. temp is down by now but just a crank.. i call my parents.. my dad yells at me on the phone for the car breaking down.. "you have a lead foot.. you deserve it" i hear my mom yelling at him thank gawd for once.. thanx for the help dad.. we leave my car there b/c my dad got someone to tow it home...

cost me 350 to tow it home.. my dad won't co sign for another car (prelude) after he said he would like a month ago..

i am in such a crappy mood.. i'm so upset.. i don't know what to do.. it seems like i'm stuck between a rock and a hard place.. my parents just said "what about a motor swap" well duh if the trans is gone.. i'm not going to do another fawking auto.. it's not worth the hassle/money.. right?

so please some helpful advice

i was looking into a 95 SE with 72k.. green.. very nice... for about 9,000... they said no...

 

O.K...... First, CALM DOWN! Let's talk logical English, o.k.? How much money can you afford to spend without anyone's help? That is your first, bottom line, and unless you have a good paying steady job, your only question. Reply to that, then we can talk from there.

 

about 1k without help.... without future pay checks.. that's what i've got to work with.. *shrugs* steady job.. can you say.. i've been with the same company (my parents company) for about 5 years...

 

Sounds like your only option is to rebuild your engine/transmission. If your parrents won't co-sign for you (mine never did) for another car, and you don't have sufficient credit to get a decent loan yourself, I'm sorry, but this is your only option. Buy another car for less than a grand, and you'll get exactly what you have right now (or worse). How many miles are on your Prelude?

my parents and i just had a talk.. they'd co sign for something reasonable...

 

i can get a jdm version of my motor for 650-700 to my door.. trans is the problem *shrugs* if i'm going jdm.. i don't want the damn auto anymore.. hmm.. hopefully my mechanic can hook me up.. he'll do the swap for nada b/c i get him enough business from my friends..

 

Sucks about the lude girl. I think that if you can't get a better car, it would be cool to just swap the motor like you were saying. So try that out and see what you couldn't do about an auto/manual. Laterz n' good luck.

What's reasonable to them? I'd shoot for a 4th Gen in 5spd and see what you can get.

 

its never impossible to do anything.....

hard work, patient fingers, dont spend the money if u dont like what u see or find....wait till you see what u want....
