Default SH turbo kits...

i was wondering why most turbo kits are for the base models only.

like the greddy kits. i know stuff is in different places, but what?

anyone have a turbo on their SH? or can recommend a brand/turbo for my 98 SH.

pretty sure i'm going custom, but i dont wanna get the wrong stuff and be stuck with base model turbo parts.

One thing would be the downpipe lenght sine the base and SH headers are different. I think a lot fo the companies don't want to be bothered with ATTS issues on their kits so they stay away. Custom is the way to go with turbo's so if you work with a reputable shop or do your research you should be fine.

The only ones that work for the Type SH are the F-max kit and the Drag kit. They are both decent, but I would chose the F-max kit it's set up better and more cleanly installed, plus it comes with a front mount. You can modify the Greddy Kit but it's going to be a little work, the greddy kit is probably the best out there. The ATTS will become a problem when you make 250 to the wheels. That's when it would be a good idea for a tranny swap with the base model.

That would be the best way to go if you've got the money to do it. A quaife LSD would be one of the best.

You can't swap a SH tranny and base tranny, the blocks are different. And currently nobody makes a LSD to replace the ATTS unit.

On the 250 hp theory there are several people running turbo's with no problems on SH's. I'm sure some are making over 250 hp. If it does become a problem you can yank the fuse and not worry at all.

250 HP to the wheels is how much hp to the crank/flywheel? i like it better this way....and does the DRAG Stage 4 Kit really give 200 HP??? and if it does, i'll have 400 HP...???
