H22A Running Now, Few Questions
Hey, Well I finally got the JDM H22A into my 1992 Prelude SI. Im currently running the H23 Tranny... Everything on my car is stock right now, But I'm going to get a couple of bolt-ons, just the I/H/C/E. Well on my SI Guage it said my redline was 6500 with the H23. Now that I have the H22 where is my redline at? Also, What kind of ECU should I get for my h22, because I didn't switch ECU's yet so VTEC is not working. If I get a chipped Spoon P13 ECU that says I can redline at 8500, Is that safe? I'm the type of driver that redlines for no reason.

Why should I not chip my ecu... I was going to get one from phearable.net I heard that's a pretty good place. I heard it really helps your performance. And the other day, I maxed out 120, It wouldnt pass 120. Someone said I will free more horses with a chipped ecu that would let me redline higher and make my air/fuel ratio better. if i get a ecu from phearable.net it also has a CEL shiftlight and 2 stage launch. Hmm about your question F22, I dunno if I have the h22 harness but my car works perfectly with the h22 all I need to do now is get a VTEC ecu and hook up the vtec. I'm not sure if I got h22 dizzy or h23 dizzy how do i check and why does it matter? thanks

You will see no gains unless you tune your car....an 8500 redline is pointless for an H22 unless its built heavily(pistons, head, so on)...Revving it that high will damage your motor
If your car runs and you have no check engine light then the harness and dizzy should be correct...just change the ECU and be careful with your car.

been there done that
you need cams that will make power higher than stock, stiffer valvesprings, and titanium retainers.

??
If I were you, I would get 8500 rpm out of your head! Get your power with more mods. 8500 rpm in a H22a would be the end result of a lot of $ in mods (or the first step to blowing your engine hah), and by that time, you probably wouldnt need to rev that high to get the performance you want. If you try and get to 8500 without internals, better prepare another "buy me an engine" speech for dad. Do some research before you ruin that engine, H22a motors are nice, it would be a shame to blow it.
oh, and if you dont care about blowing it, I can give you my address to send me some free money.
