Default Better wheel: 16x6.5" Spoon SW388 or 16"x7" Rota Slipstream?

I've gotten over my huge wheel/tire combination ideas for my Type-SH. I'm interested in a good 16" wheel that looks nice.

Spoon's 16" rims look very much the part and I've seen pictures of them on Preludes. Great appearance with slightly fatter tires.

They do cost almost $2000 however. Modacar.com sells Rota Slipstreams, a very close replica of the Spoon rims, at under $500 for a set.

I know these will be cast rims and not forged, but since I do not race or auto-x my car, would anyone recommend these rims over the expensive Spoons?

Much appreciated!

Craig

spoon's are 4 lug pattern.... Rota Slipstreams are knock-off Mugen wheels and they're very nice! (know 3 people with them)...

It's hard to find 16's any more. I'm seriously considering getting some of the Volk Winning clones in 16x7 (they're Ace Rages.)

spoon can be in a 4 or 5 lug pattern and rota slipstreams are a knock-off of the spoon and regamaster evo rims...they're not off the mugen rims ....i recommend just getting the rota for now and save your money on engine parts instead....not worth to spend alot of money and not putting it to its exact purpose anyways...

One thing I "heard" is that in the process of keeping the Spoon wheels light they tend to crack under the stress of street driving. I've also a few people having no problems with theirs so it's still a tough choice but I'd save the $$$ and get the Rota wheels. The money you save will get you some other nice mods.

Well I'm not going to race my car and it is driven daily, so Rota Slipstreams it is.
Does anyone know of fitment problems with Spoon brake calipers on stock Type-SH or Rota Slipstream rims?

Thanks guys!
