GSR Vs H22 which would drop in your ride?
I hear a lot about GSR and H22. Some people say h22 is way better Than the GSR but the price for the H22 is cheaper than a GSR. I know a little about the engines but as a consumer if the price for one engine is higher than the other, the higher priced is engine is going to be better. I would have to say im a h22 guy because i like the preludes but if you guys were going to race wouldn't u want to put the engine that is best for your car. Im only asking this becasue the h22 is on average $1000 cheaper than the GSR. Well if you perfer the GSR can u take some shots at the h22 because i dont think u can go wrong with a h22.

uh the GS-R is the name of the car.
the ENGINE is called B18C1. the reason why they're more expensive is because demand is bigger for them, being that LS's, Civics, and other B series guys can upgrade by buying one. not as many people can easily swap an H series into their car.
insofar as b18c vs h22, they've both got their own redeeming qualities, but if you're putting it into a prelude, assuming its a 4th gen, the H series will be a better choice.

designations exist for a reason. so people can be clear when they discuss shit like, say, swaps.

The H22 would be cheaper, u could easily install it. The GSR engine is prolly better for all engine, do to the performance parts on it. But u could turbo and have more power with the H22.
And isnt the GSR engine the B18C5, cause the B18C1's are everywhere and are cheap?!?!?
But what can i say, i dont know much.

any b18c variant in a swap is a good amount more than the h22 swap, pricewise
the h22 swap is one of the cheapest swaps aside from the 1st gen b16a JDM motor, or the ZC.
you'd be a fool to put a B series motor into a 4th gen lude over an H22
the h22 has gobs more torque out of the box and the prelude is not a lightweight breed
-not to mention B series engine upgrades and components although a little more common than comparable h22 parts, are in most cases more money
-not to mention a 4g lude with a b18c1 (GSR MOTOR) is gonna need A LOT of engine mods and bolt ons to even compete with the equivalent stock h22 swap.
-not to mention with the money you save on the h22 swap, you can get a skunk2 head package (safe to 9000) and make the h22 revable higher than the GSR anyway.
a 4g lude (or at least mine for example) has an edge over swapped b series civic's (b18c1 94 hatchie)
i pulled about 1.5 car lengths all the way to 130 vs a b18c1 94 civic hatch.
same result for 3 consecutive races
he had I/H/E
at the time i had only a header, stock exhaust and stock intake pipe and filter.
now think about the weight of the civic with the GSR MOTOR :nono: in it
and think about the weight of my prelude with the h22a1 in it
now imagine if i had a b18c1 in my prelude for that race...who do you think would have won?
