HELP! Turn signals won't work!
I have a 5th gen and i was converting my front turn signals to dual filament , so they would stay on all of the time, and evrything went great, but when i got finnished none of my signals would work, including the hazards. I rechecked my wiring, and checked the fuses, and nothing was wrong, and i was wondering if anybod has had similar problems and what you did to fix them, thanks for any help.

i have the amber lights in, and it looks better than the jdms. it worked on the first one, and when i got done with the second they stopped, and i just checked everything and still no blinkers, and i will post pics so you see how sweet they look.

here is the deal on how your are SUPPOSE to do that conversion:
maybe you can fix ur mistake or start all over....
The 2 "Blue-Yellow" wire connections connect to those
wires on the back of the signal relay. It should be
by the fusebox or behind the bonnet release. 2 Diodes
(12v rating from an electronics store. About $1 for
2) connect in line with the connections to the relay.
You need 3 automotive relays (get them at an
Automotive parts store) and the numbers corrospond to
that on the relays (they should be next to each pin).
The wires & diodes connecting to the 2 "Blue-Yellow"
wires connect to pin 86, "To Ignition On" connect to
pin 30 and "ground" connect ot pin 85.
This relay can be mounted under the dash for easier
connection.
The 2 other relays can go on each side of the bumper
and connect as follows..
1) On the 2 relays, connect pin 86 together and then
connect that wire to pin 87 on the relay under the
dash.
2) Take the + wire out of the plug that plugs into
each light lense and connect pin 30 of each relay to
the wire.
3) Connect pin 87A from each relay and connect that
wire to the place where you took the stock wire out
from that is now connected to pin 30. (plug it into
the plug in place of the stock wire).
4) Connect pin 85 to Ground
5) connect pin 87 of both relays together then connect
both to the battery + positive terminal.
So, when it's all done when the key is on, the front
signals will light up constant but when you indicate
say left, both will go out then signal normally. When
finished, both will turn back on.
The diodes are used because there is one "Blue-Yellow"
wire for the left and right and if it wasnt isolated,
both sides will turn on. The "Blue-Yellow" wire gets
constant 12V when you signal left or right (and either
one or the other wire) but when you use the hazards,
both get constant 12V. Also, the lights will function
normally if the ignition is off.
Just connect the "Ignition On" connection to the
parking light switch instead of the ignition so they turn on with the parking lights.
The signal relay is about twice the size of the other
relays. You can find it by turning on your hazards
and then listening and touching each relay until you
fell it clicking which would indicate that it's that
one

Thanks alot for the info. here is what i did. i spliced the red power wire from the side bumper lights ( which are constantly on) and ran a wire to the front. then i cut the socket rom the front turn signals and removed the two pin connector for the single filament bulb, and then connected the red(sidemarker constant power), the black, (turn signal ground), and the green(turn signal power{only when turn signal is activated}) to the new three pin dual filament connector. and i did one side and tested the running lights and signals, and everything worked perfectly how i planned, but now that i got finnished, the running lights come on, but when i hit the hazard or signal lights, nothing happens, and i was wondering if there is something i am overlooking, because i checked the hazard fuse and some others, and cant seem to find the problem, so with that infor, if anyone could give me some help that would be great, and thanks to preludechick for her help
