as the title explains, I can not deicde wether to get 17s or 18s. I have some money to burn and I want rims. I was thinking that the 18s will be a nice way to remove fender gap but unfortunalty i will ride high. Will it look stupid to ride hihg on 18s with a lip kit? Should I jsut go with 17s and not worry to much about riding hihg for now? Ohh and I have a 5th gen.

im gonna go with 16s or 17s but im more into how i perform rather than how i look i would say to go with a set of rims that will give you the best performance unless your trying to pimp out your 'lude.

 

Like sphinx said, you gotta figure out if your going for looks or performance (or both). If your going for straight up looks, get the biggest size wheels you can buy (like some 19's). If you'd rather shoot for speed, I would get some real lightweight 15's or 16's. For your question about wheelgap: 17's or 18's won't neccasarily be an all-in-one solution to reducing your wheelgap...tire size, and suspension play a role in that also. The best way would be to get a set of coilovers or springs and lower your ride that way. So your best bet would probably be to get a nice set of 17" wheels and drop it 2"-2.75" with some coilovers/springs.

17's or 18's dont belong on hondas. but if you do get them prepare for your car to slow down

 

17's are a gray area.

anything bigger than that is pointless...it's not like there's a HUGE set of calipers and rotors to clear.

that said, i'm looking for some cheap light 15's...

 

17's for looks and performance, 18's if you just cruise and profile.
i still have the stock 15'

 

If you wanna keep about the same ride height, you can get 18s with some low profile tires. Thats what I plan on doing. Although I hope my height goes up just a tad. I keep scraping on stupid shit in my town. Like AT THE HONDA DEALERSHIP THE SHIT DIPS DOWN LIKE A FOOT OR SOMETHING!!!!! CRACKED MY FRONT END BASTITCHES!!!
