Default DSLR & Humidity

Gentleman, i'm going to Cancun for my buddies wedding in July. I want to take my XSi but last time I was there it was extremely humid in the rooms if you didn't keep the AC on all the time. I mean to the point where we would get back to our room and if we left the sliding door open to the balcony, the floor would be damp and also our cloathing would be as well.

Any suggestions, like I said i'd like to bring it with me, but at the same time, I don't want to mess it up either.

Just get the Best Buy service. If it does die, walk into best buy and get a new one. h:

I brought my camera (d40) on misty hikes, boat cruises with splashing waters, tropical locations (hawaii and australia) and it is still going very strong. I think humidity isn't something to be too concerned about with the dslrs.

I wish It was that easy to get a new one h:

I kinda figured, alot of places I read just say if i'm going to use it, let it get adjusted to being outside the room in like a bag with silica packs just to be safe. I also read that fungus grew on older lenses. I thought that was weird.

just dont leave it out, as long as you keep it in your bag unless your shooting the humidity will not do anything to your camera.

it's fine, just keep the caps on (both ends) when you aren't using the lens. I took my kit lens to hawaii and the 50mm for a little over a week. it was humid as hell but there was no problems at all (even after 5 years). you have to worry more about water getting on/in your lens than just humid conditions.

as others have said. if you aren't using it, put it back in the bag.

Maybe slap it in a ziploc bag inside the case?

Easiest thing to do is to buy a dehumidifier and keep it in your bag.
