like this

and this one

first one:

the light is a little harsh on her tho, it really blown out. tone down the aperture and turn the flash so its not so dead on her.

the second well thats just done wonderfully! great tone shadowing. a little too soft but that can be fixed in PS with a little sharpening and then just toning the black to pop out a little more. but other wise then that its on point really like it alot. if you want send me a little higher res version of the ones you posted and ill touch up to show you what i mean.

Vin - no flash on those....was trying the hot lights only. I'm learning the angles, and trying to see what you mean. As to the softness, I tried to repair the defects f/ the 20D...it is too grainy. Shopping for a new body now....7d / 5dmkii and 60d are the 3 contenders.

As to the first one - i hate th elight also...she loves the shot tho...i should have moved the umbrellas 45* towards camera....but, the shot was cute, so i used it.

Nelson, Good work. shot one, love the composition, but what is your focal point? I think i would have gone for the hip or the feet...the leg kinda gets lost.

Also, grab a circular polarizer for beach shoots like this...it will greatly help your blown-out skies.

That was the intent.

It was cloudy/overcast and I didn't use my CP.
