werd, but for me 2 430's is enough or a 430 and a vivitar 285HV with 2 cactus V4 flash triggers. you can pick them up for like 40 bucks each.

 

So the vivitar is your on shoe and the 430 is flash triggered?

 

if i had 2 flashes none of them would be on my shoe, both would be off camera with wireless triggers. on shoe flash = limited options.

Vin, next time you have a shoot and you'd rather have some lighting, call me. I know we talked about it, but for reals, yo. There're some techniques I need to learn.

I've actually used a 2nd 580 for backlighting. Set the camera mounted to master, and the other one to slave. I hid it behind a big flower pot on the floor to shoot some black and whites.
