i know this si 2 posts in a row.. but try stepping back, i know you want to get the detail, but either you are a little far away or not close enough...
if it's in the middle of a field i'd wait until the field is all green, get some contrasted old stuff/ new growing vegatation stuff

I take them this way because it gives desired effect. If all I did was take a picture of a tractor in a field it would be a pretty boring picture and no one would give a shit about a snapshot of a tractor.
I take photos in angles and range of view that I want to share, if someone doesn't like them then so be it....I create my shots first and foremost for what pleases me.
