Default Chimney

First shot at bulb mode shooting so I think I over did the time on it but I still kinda like it....for now.

Canon A2
Lens Canon 70-200mm
Fuji 200 film
Aperature 5.6
Exposure length 8 minutes

I will be trying this again obviously with a lower exposure length because the sky really washed out...just sharing my test more than anything

Nice picture, wish I had your talent. I really need a tripod because my hands shake from um prior addictions.

Night, please elaborate on said "bulb mode" shooting. What are the white blurred dots in the sky?

This one honestly doesnt do that much for me personally, but as always a quality photo.

Bulb mode is a shutter mode that allows you to keep the shutter open for as long as you hold the shutter button down.

It takes a bit of calculation to perfect and some trial and error work. Some cameras have it and some cameras don't. My A2 has it but my 650 does not.

If you begin experimenting with it then you will want some form of remote shutter release. It usually attaches to the side of the camera on a recepticle and has a lock down function on it then you just use a timer or stopwatch and release the shutter when the desired time is over.

Film failure happens a lot and there is no real effective way to meter the aperature need for extended shots like this so it is a lot of guessing involved and a lot of wasted film.

The white blurred dots in the sky are stars. I also am not particularly impressed with this shot but out of the two that actually were returned this one was the better and I wanted to share my latest experiment.

I wish my camera had a bulb setting. Or at least a remote shutter. You know what is awesome....if you can get a clear sky, and have it point to Polaris, and just keep the shutter open for a couple hours. I know I have seen a pic like that before...I love it.
