Taken at the American LeMans event at PIR this weekend.
shot with:
Canon A2
17-35mm wideangle with 1.4x convertor (yes I was that close to the car )
Kodak Tri-X 200 film
Mild adjustments with Photoshop

Try over 400

I have about 200 useable I am still editing down and picking through....I figure I will end up with about 160 I will actually use and display.

Same method as described in this thread except I shot at 1/250 shutter speed.

It is in the shutter speed.

What happens is you slow the shutter down a hair. For this close shot I was actually shooting at 1/250 and just panned with the car(remember this car is doing about 80mph while coming around a corner). Depending on circumstances you may want to slow down as much as 1/60 shutter speed and use shutter priority mode so it picks the correct aperature. Main thing is a smooth and steady panning action. To practice I suggest going down the side of a freeway and just try some pan shots of cars passing by...it may seem a waste of film but it gets you practice time. Try varying shutter speeds and keep track of what speeds you use for each shot then check your results and see what shutter speeds yield best results for you...there is some variance depending on the situation but you get a feel for it after a bit.
