Default I just got a tripod

Sunpak 6400UT Platinum Plus

It was an impulse buy for me. I don't have much photography experience, but this tripod seems to have alot of cool features and adjustments. Here's a sample pic I took of my family room:

It's amazing how much a tripod can make a difference!

Good investment, but your camera seems to washout highlights??? Mine does the same thing, I blame it on the fact its a cheap Gateway. What kind of camera. Dun worry you'll get better, you can do a lot with a cheaper camera. You just have to know how to use to you advantage with the features it has and within its capabilities.

When highlights and bright spots have no definition in their composition. Look at the bright/highlight spots below the Cola cans, see they are sort of "washed out". And you cannot really tell what it is. I wonder why your good camera did that. I juts thought mine did it cause it sucks :dunno:
